About Zee

Hello, my name is Zee Virani, and I understand that reaching out for support can feel like a significant step. Many of us navigate personal struggles, and it takes real courage to acknowledge when you might need some help. My aim is to offer a welcoming, safe space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings without judgement.

My therapeutic approach primarily draws from evidence-based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), combined with a collaborative, person-centred style. I specialise in supporting individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, phobias, and other mental health challenges. Together, we'll actively work on developing practical strategies to improve your overall wellbeing.

In our sessions, you can expect a confidential and non-judgemental environment where your experience is truly heard. We'll work at your own pace, using structured yet flexible methods to develop new coping mechanisms and thought patterns. The goal is always to empower you with the tools to manage difficulties and create positive, lasting change.

As a fully qualified therapist, I hold a Foundation Degree (FdA) in Counselling and am a proud member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I have particular expertise in applying techniques such as thought challenging, behavioural experiments, and cognitive restructuring to address a wide range of mental health conditions.

Background and experience

I am a CBT and counselling practitioner who uses structured, goal-oriented, evidence-based approaches to help people address anxiety, depression, stress, phobias, trauma-related difficulties, low self-esteem, sleep problems and obsessive-compulsive patterns. I prioritise practical tools and measurable outcomes so clients leave sessions with strategies they can apply in daily life.

I have extensive experience working in youth and community services, as well as serving as a school counsellor and senior family co‑ordinator. These roles have given me strong insight into family breakdown, domestic violence and the wider impact of trauma. I am also a fully qualified and experienced couples therapist.

My academic background includes a degree in Teaching from Roehampton Institute and a Masters in Applied Anthropology with Community and Youth Work. I hold a Foundation Degree (FdA) in Counselling, trained in Counselling and Psychotherapy at Greenwich University and am registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

Alongside private practice, I have worked within an acute hospital discharge team and supported people affected by abuse and trauma, and I continue to volunteer within local counselling and community services. As a trauma-informed therapist I offer structured interventions that draw on CBT techniques such as thought challenging, cognitive restructuring and behavioural experiments to help clients measure progress, reduce panic and manage persistent worry.
