About Jessica

My name is Jessica, and I am a fully qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor and registered member of the BACP.

I provide a safe, supportive, and confidential space for individuals and couples at CBT and Counselling Kingswood, as well as online. I believe that while emotional and personal challenges are common, they do not have to define your future or limit your wellbeing.

I specialise in helping clients navigate a variety of issues, including anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, and relationship difficulties. I have a particular interest in supporting clients to understand relationship patterns, identity, and the deeper emotional experiences that can shape how we connect with others and ourselves.

My approach is integrative, meaning I draw on person-centred, psychodynamic, relational, and existential models to create a therapy plan tailored to your unique goals.

Whether you are looking to improve your self-esteem, understand repetitive patterns, or gain clarity about your life, my focus is on supporting you to move forward in a way that feels meaningful and manageable.

In our sessions, we will work collaboratively to explore unhelpful thinking patterns and develop healthier ways of coping. I offer a non-judgemental environment where we can reflect on past experiences to build greater self-awareness and self-compassion.

I am dedicated to inclusion and diversity, offering a safe space to explore themes such as gender, sexuality, racial identity, and neurodivergence. My aim is for you to feel heard, valued, and empowered as we work towards lasting, positive change.

Working with Young People (11+) I also work with young people aged 11 and above, adapting my approach to suit their individual needs.

I understand that seeking support for a teenager can feel like a big step, and I aim to create a safe, supportive, and age-appropriate space where they feel comfortable and able to open up.

Sessions with teenagers are conversational and supportive, similar to talking therapy, with the option to use creative techniques such as art, writing, or other practical exercises where helpful.

The focus is on helping young people feel understood, build confidence, and develop practical ways of managing their emotions and challenges.

I support young people with difficulties such as anxiety, low mood, school-related stress, and emotional overwhelm.

I am fully DBS checked

Background and experience

My journey into therapeutic work began in education, where I worked as a teacher in both state and private schools. During this time, I found myself drawn to the psychological aspects of teaching and the importance of understanding the holistic picture of my students and their families. Transitioning into the field of therapy was a natural progression of my desire to support others on a deeper level.

I gained significant experience over six years ago when I trained as a bereavement counsellor with 'Cruse Bereavement Care'. This role gave me extensive exposure to a diverse range of cultures, ages, and relationship situations. I have also volunteered as a pro-bono counsellor at a women’s centre, supporting survivors of domestic abuse. These experiences have shaped my approachable and insightful nature, allowing me to support clients through some of their most challenging life events.

I am fully DBS checked and insured, and I strictly adhere to the professional and ethical standards set by the BACP. I regularly engage in ongoing supervision and Continual Professional Development (CPD) to ensure that the support I offer remains of the highest quality.
